I am guessing that part of the problem is the requirement to encrypt Freeview HD streams so that they cannot be recorded. Elgato has been long been maintaining a diplomatic silence over support for this, although it tends to come up trumps for PCTV sticks sooner or later. The digital switchover seems to have exposed some bugs in the EyeTV software and the workarounds are a nuisance, but generally it has been very good indeed. Incidentally, I've used a Miglia TVMini with EyeTV software since early 2006 and have found it excellent.
